Indicative 2025/26 daily rates for skis + boots; Livigno's duty-free status keeps rental a little cheaper than the French or Swiss Alps, some shops quote boots separately, and booking online or by the week saves roughly 15–25%.
There is no train to Livigno. In winter you arrive by road either from Italy over the Foscagno Pass (2,291 m) via Bormio, or from Switzerland (Zernez / Engadin, near St. Moritz) through the tolled, single-lane Munt la Schera tunnel. Nearest airports are Bergamo Orio al Serio and Milan (~3.5–4 h) and Innsbruck (~3 h); winter tyres or chains are mandatory and passes can close in heavy snow.
Most rental shops offer free heated ski-depot and boot storage at the lift bases, so you can leave gear slopeside overnight instead of hauling it to your hotel. Because Livigno is duty-free, buying new skis, boots or clothing can rival the cost of a long rental — worth comparing for a full-week trip.
