Davos is six separate ski areas under one lift pass — Parsenn, Jakobshorn, Pischa, Rinerhorn, Madrisa, and Schatzalp — spread over 320 km of piste. The Parsenn funicular from Davos Dorf opens the famous 12 km run down to Küblis in the valley, followed by a train ride back to resort.

Indicative 2025/26 daily rates for skis + boots. Davos shops quote in Swiss francs — roughly CHF 28–55 a day for an adult set, with children from about CHF 15 — and booking online or by the week typically saves 10–20% on the walk-in price.
Zurich airport is the usual gateway: trains reach Davos in about 2 h 30 with one change at Landquart onto the Rhaetian Railway. Davos Dorf station sits beside the Parsennbahn and Davos Platz station is a short walk from the Jakobshorn gondola, so the arrival station matters. By road it is roughly 150 km (about 2 h) from Zurich via the A13; winter tyres are effectively compulsory. Local buses connect Dorf, Platz, Glaris (Rinerhorn) and Klosters throughout the day.
Use the depots. Intersport Andrist and Paarsenn Sports at the Parsenn base and Bardill at the Jakobshorn all store skis and dry boots overnight, which matters here because Dorf and Platz are 2 km apart — hauling gear between the two on the bus is the classic Davos rookie mistake.

Ski the long way home
The classic Parsenn descent drops from Weissfluhjoch about 12 km to Küblis or Serneus in the valley below; you then ride the train back to Davos for a few francs. Ask your shop for skis that handle a long, varied run rather than a park ski.

Quiet days on Rinerhorn and Pischa
When Parsenn is busy, Rinerhorn at Davos Glaris and Pischa are on the same pass and far emptier — the bus from Platz takes about 15 minutes.
Rent clothing rather than buy it
Several Davos shops rent jackets and trousers for around CHF 40 a day — worth it for a one-off trip instead of buying kit you will never wear at home.
An entry-level ski and boot set runs roughly €25–30 a day (about CHF 25–30), all-mountain gear around €40–45, and performance or test skis €55–65. Weekly bookings and online reservations usually cut 10–20% from walk-in prices.
Davos Dorf if you plan to ski Parsenn — Intersport Andrist and Paarsenn Sports are metres from the Parsennbahn. Davos Platz if you head up the Jakobshorn, where Bardill Sport is a minute from the gondola. The two bases are about 2 km apart.
